Spring??!!

Hi everyone,i thought i would update your all on the babies in the greenhouse! I have seedling basils(lots of varieties), chamomile, catnip, lavender, oregano, thyme, and the tomatoes and peppers are coming up and looking good! A few other stray weird plants...i like a challenge and have planted some Fenugreek just for fun, it came up right away so it wasn't much of a challenge!  Outside, in the garden, i planted onion and bibb lettuces. My radishes are up, garlic is doing well, tarragon is peeking through the soil and i have romaine and baby lettuce mix going strong. Cilantro and dill, they love the cooler weather, and are doing just fine! Of course, the ever present PARSLEY...not just for me, but for the butterflies too. I'm getting ready for our plant sale on April 18 at Point of Need Ministries, on Canton Road. We are having a festival type event, a BAND JAM, and many vendors will be present, including MOI with the plant sale! I will have irises, gardenias, butterfly bushes, coreopsis (perennial), mugwort, and a bunch of other plants, including the herbs....it will be a great sale!  Ya'll have a great day, and pray the weather holds and spring is here to stay! HAPPY GARDENING!

seeds

Seeds....and more seeds!

....Been dreaming about seeds.....can i ever have enough? And ordering more seeds.....ah those catalogs!  And everyone else has seeds on the brain, too, by the looks of my store! I still have genovese basil, lime basil, lemon basil, cinnamon basil, and many other herb and flower seeds available.  Unfortunately, I am all sold out of hyacinth bean! Those are always popular! Check out my store and see what you might be missing from your seed stash....and remember, always NO SHIPPING FEE for seeds at debbie's garden! Can't wait until spring to break ground! Think i'll head out to the greenhouse for a spell...! Ya'll have a great day and keep dreaming...spring is coming soon!  :-)

Mood:  a-ok

Just checking in.....we had a good freeze the other night and it zapped the impatiens, oh well, it was time i suppose. I picked some salad greens this evening and had them for dinner. Arugula and baby greens, mixed.  I love Arugula, it's my new favorite salad green!!! Picked up some more pecans, shelled some....got an offer from another neighbor to come pick up pecans, she doesn't want them :-) think i will be in her yard come Sat. afternoon! I also planted some more garlic bulbs as they came in the mail today. They had very small sprouts on them so i decided what the heck, go outside and plant them, then you don't have to worry about it anymore! So i did.Laughing Hope everyone is staying warm. Take care and God Bless!

July 25 News Update - debbie's garden / MS Farmers Market
Mood:  chatty
Now Playing: debbie's garden
Topic: Farmers Market News

Hello all!  I will be at Marietta Square again this Saturday, 9 to 12, with my teas, herbs, and soaps, etc.....Hope you can join me for the market experience! A wonderful variety of vendors, and lots of tomatoes and corn coming in!

The lavender cookies have been a big hit....this week I will also feature Chocolate Mint brownies alongside the lavender cookies.  The featured tea of the week will be SPRING GARDEN , my favorite!  If you missed it, last week I featured Sunny Tea, and also a new one, Shakespeare Tea, which was named for Shakespeare who made it famous in one of his plays.....

Also new this week in the soap department, COCONUT LIME VERBENA with goats milk, and Iʼll also have plenty more of the Goats Milk Soap with Lavender (I say Iʼll have plenty, itʼs been selling out like crazy! LOL!).

Also for those of you looking, I have tarragon again this week, and also have more thai basil, as well as all the other basils.....catnip still available. Also Cuban Oregano, what a cool plant!  Also have Patchouli plant (have loads of those) and lavender hyssop, and much much more!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week and I hope to see you soon! Have an Herby Day! J

spring!
Mood:  happy
Topic: Seeds and challenges
Very ecstatic that spring is here...everything is greening up.....i think we are past the danger of frost, although last year's late frost is still "fresh" in my mind! Planted like crazy Saturday and today....chamomile, various basils, daisies, transplanted some hostas. Want to make sure i have plenty of herbs, got some more lemongrass going, st. johns wort, lime basil, chicory and millet, just for fun....i like a challenge and i like to grow "weird" stuff....my pineapple plant is almost a year old (in June) i grew it from the top of a pineapple from Georgia's wedding last year!  Ok anybody ever try to grow anything weird and succeed? I'd like to hear about it.
